Truth About Time

Schedule time for what matters most!
Being honest about your time increases your chances of completing your actions, holding yourself accountable, and maintaining integrity.

Take 30 minutes to prioritize your time for the next few weeks:

  • Know YOUR goals. Not planning your week is bad, but planning without focusing on your priorities is even worse. It means you can handle everything “on your plate,” but you will not make progress on your own goals because you are busy working on everyone else’s priorities.
    • Questions to consider:
      • What are YOUR goals right now? (In your professional life and personal life)
      • Which tasks and projects could have the highest impact on these goals?
      • When will you block uninterrupted/focused time for these tasks and projects?
      • Look back at “Imagine What is Possible.” Have you scheduled time to work on those items?
  • Plan your week before it starts. No more planning as you go. Be proactive in planning out your weeks so you can walk into Monday morning with confidence, focus, and less stress. Additionally, having your time blocked makes you less likely to say YES to activities that are not aligned with your priorities.
  • Allow for unplanned times. Planning is spontaneity’s enemy, but spontaneity is fun’s best friend. Leave room in your calendar for the flow of life and those unexpectedly exciting moments.
